De Amerikaan Mark Yaroshevsky heeft zijn laatste wedstrijd op Vlaamse bodem gewonnen in Borchtlombeek. Hij ging er samen vandoor met Riley Hart en ze bouwden een voorsprong op 33 seconden op hun enige achtervolger, Arne Bauters.
"Coming into my last race on my trip I knew I wanted to come out with a bang so Riley Hart and I set the standard high. We wanted both of us on no less than the podium. The first few laps weren't too fast, but the pack was reminded of the slick conditions when a rider off the front crashed cornering. I wasn't planning on getting in a breakaway 40km out from the finish, but when I followed some moves and found myself off the front with Riley on the 3rd lap, there was no turning back. A group of 4 quickly formed, but then was reduced to 3 just as quickly. The 3 of us rotated smoothly, working together perfectly. Several laps of being off the front began to hit my legs hard, but I still mustered an attack with 2 to go which led to me being off the front and Riley promptly dropping our breakaway companion to join me. It was smooth sailing from there on which resulted in both of us putting our hands in the air, ecstatic to go 1-2." told Mark.
