"The first half of the race was very fast with some dangerous attacks constantly heading up the road so we had to keep on our toes to make sure nothing stuck. Last 4 laps an isorex rider goes up the road very strong and went 40-50 seconds up the road. 2 laps to go there was a chance for me to break away from the peloton but if I was to try such a move, I couldn't bring the peloton with me because that would my teammate in a conflicting position so I had to go solo. 2 laps to go I drive hard on an up hill section, I get away but then they catch me so then I go again and managed to drop the peloton off my wheel..2km later I knew they wouldn't come back so then I had to focus on bringing back a 50 second gap by myself. I caught my teammate with 1-2km to go. When I caught him we had a brief talk whether or not we would sprint so that we both had a fair 50/50 chance to win the race. In the sprint my legs were good and in the end I crossed the line first but it was a tough sprint hold off my teammate who had a  very strong ride."
