Voor de woensdagnamiddag wedstrijd in Herzele verschenen woensdag 126 juniors aan de start. De wedstrijd werd gewonnen door de Brit Joseph (Joe) Nally. Eerste Belg werd Tibo Nevens op de 7e plaats.
"I went into the race really excited, I didn't feel like I had great legs but I was just looking forward to a smash-up. I got a pretty good start, managing to stay near the front and be on the right side of all of the splits. The course was flowing really well with some nice corners and fast straights. About 3 laps in I managed to bridge a large gap to a breakaway with another guy but despite having a big group, the bunch caught us quite easily. I stayed in the bunch following big attacks and keeping at the front. On the last lap I attacked over the top of a climb with roughly 2km to go. I got a gap quickly and closed down on the lone leader on the descent. I caught him up the next climb and attacked him straight away, managing to get a big enough gap to ride to the finish alone.
